Jessica Shaw Partner


Jessica is a Partner specialising in family and trust disputes arising on separation. 

Prior to joining Simpson Western, Jess worked at the Treasury Solicitor’s Department in London defending the UK Government against alleged human rights breaches.

Upon returning to New Zealand, Jess has focused on relationship property law and advises clients on complex trust, estate and relationship property disputes. She is an experienced advocate and has represented clients in numerous mediations and litigation matters.

Jess is also experienced in assisting clients in contentious matters arising under the PPPR Act, including applications for property manager / welfare guardian, and disputes relating to enduring powers of attorney.

Outside of work Jess is kept busy by her two young boys, and appreciates nothing more than some peace and quiet to read a good book. She also loves all things food and travel, especially when they include her friends and family.
